Beautiful circa 1978 Sony TA-F5A Integrated amplifier in excellent
condition. In the 1970's, Sony build audio gear of equal or better
quality than Marantz, Sansui, and Pioneer. The heavy construction and
top-quality components used in the TA-F5A result in durability and
excellent sound. Knobs and faceplate are solid machined aluminum. This
unit uses a high-efficiency pulse-locked (alim à
découpage) power supply. The two large power meters on the front
look great with the subtle green glow.
Due to the lower quality of Sony's later products, Sony's reputation
has suffered and vintage Sony components are available at lower prices
than comparable Sansui or Marantz amplifiers.
